Sydney, Australia (September 14, 2006)–NASCAR Images recently purchased a two-bay Fairlight DREAM Constellation-XT mixing console in addition to their three-bay Constellation-XT purchased in March 2006. The two-bay DREAM Constellation-XT was installed in the new B Room with surround sound capabilities that will be used primarily for pre-production and sweetening purposes.
“We’re expanding very quickly and are doing more and more promos these days,” said Scott Perry, senior audio mixer for NASCAR Images. “Having worked with the DREAM Constellation-XT, we knew we needed that same technology in a smaller package.”
Currently, NASCAR Images and CMT (Country Music Television) are producing Dale, the first authorized documentary about the late Dale Earnhardt. The full-length film will be released in early 2007 and features interviews with Earnhardt’s family, friends and fellow racers.
The decision to purchase the two-bay DREAM Constellation-XT was largely based on NASCAR Images’ positive experience working with a 3-bay DREAM Constellation-XT, which was installed in March 2006. “We’ve done really well with the DREAM Constellation-XT, so we decided to maintain that consistency when the time came to expand,” Perry said. “We know what we’re getting in terms of quality and reliability, and nobody else manufactures such a powerful console at that price.”
Based in Charlotte, NC, NASCAR Images is the exclusive rights holder of NASCAR footage and possesses the world’s largest NASCAR libraries. The company also offers video and commercial production and post-production, marketing and sales videos, custom DVDs, and turnkey television production. The facility comprises more than 35,000 square feet with a 1200 square foot studio space featuring 17 non-linear suites, 22 terabytes of storage and a digital asset management system supporting the last 20 years of NASCAR history.
