Los Angeles, CA (October 9, 2006)--Native Instruments has announced Guitar Rig 2 Software Edition, a software-only version of Guitar Rig. The Software Edition provides the complete arsenal of amp emulations and effect modules; only the Rig Kontrol pedal remains exclusive to the standard Guitar Rig 2 package.

"While guitarists love the functionality of the Rig Kontrol, Guitar Rig also proved to be very popular with producers who don't necessarily need a controller pedal in their studio environment," said Nils Krueger, Product Manager Guitar Division at Native Instruments. "The Guitar Rig 2 Software Edition specifically accommodates this way of working in an even more attractive price range."

Guitar Rig 2 Software Edition is based on the upcoming 2.2 version of the Guitar Rig software, which will offer three additional components and will also include support for Intel-based Macintosh computers. The Guitar Rig 2.2 update will be made available later this month.

Guitar Rig 2 Software Edition will be available in November 2006 for a suggested retail price of $339 from authorized dealers and in the NI Online Shop.
