Hollywood, Florida (June 15, 2004)–NBC Olympics has selected ScheduALL Software as the supplier of broadcast resource management software for the network’s coverage of the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece. The software will be used to oversee broadcast event ingest and final product distribution of NBC’s Olympic coverage from the International Broadcast Center in Athens.
NBC will implement the company’s ScheduLINK software for management and organization of inbound feeds from over 30 Olympic venues and mobile units. NBC will use ScheduLINK to ensure reliable logistical tracking of content and to oversee satellite and fiber feeds to the United States for broadcast on the Networks of NBC–NBC, MSNBC, CNBC, USA, Bravo, and Telemundo. ScheduLINK will help NBC Olympics efficiently manage the complexities involved with the large amount of ingest and feed distribution that occurs with an Olympic production.
“We are expecting to improve our Olympic broadcast operation with the use of ScheduLINK as our key scheduling component to our broadcast from Athens this Summer,” commented Errol Foremaster, director of engineering operations and coordination for NBC Olympics. “We are looking to ScheduLINK to help us improve our efficiency by eliminating redundant steps, avoiding scheduling conflicts, and automating communications of our schedule between operations and facilities.”
“ScheduALL’s software products were chosen after undergoing detailed testing at NBC and was deemed to be the right tool for the job,” said Rick Legow, president of ScheduALL Software. “The complexities involved with the logistics of ingest and delivery, and the sheer volume of Olympic content, called for a comprehensive solution such as ScheduLINK to help NBC optimize their operation. Our unique experience makes us well suited to handle NBC’s Olympic distribution of the thousands of Olympic feeds to many different networks around the world.”
