Lakewood, NJ (August 4, 2006)–Neutrik recently provided Silent Plug cabling assemblies to the up-and-coming bands participating in the East Coast Indie Stage’s Battle of the Bands at CBGBs in New York City. Six bands packed the house, with the winner of the contest, Millsted, earning the chance to perform on the East Coast Indie Stage (ECIS) as presented on the 2006 Vans Warped Tour.
Millsted’s performance will take place during the Tour’s New York stop on August 5 at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island.
“As a sponsor of the East Coast Indie Stage’s Warped Tour performances, we saw our participation at the New York City Battle of the Bands contest as a logical extension in our efforts to support grass roots music,” stated Jim Cowan, president of Neutrik USA. “There is an abundance of poorly made knockoff audio connector products in the market today, and one of Neutrik’s goals is to ensure that musicians receive optimal sound quality from their equipment.”
For the event at CBGB, Neutrik provided cabling assemblies featuring its Silent Plug, a solution for switching an instrument under load without creating pops or squeals typically associated with plugging and unplugging the cable from an instrument or amplifier jack. Neutrik’s Silent Plug is a 1/4-inch mono plug that fits into any 1/4-inch stereo or mono jack and features gold-plated contacts, red coating, chuck-type cable retention and the integrated “Silent Switch,” which is hermetically sealed.
In addition to winning a spot on the ECIS’ August 5th performance, Millsted will receive $250 worth of Neutrik product.
