Farmingdale, NY (January 13, 2004)–Rainbow Sound has purchased a new Nexo Geo S Series tangent array system. The system, comprised of 16 GEO S805 and four S830t full-range loudspeakers is supplemented by CD12 subbass units, NX241 digital management systems and a full complement of flying and ground-stacking hardware.
“We were immediately drawn to these cabinets at the fall AES because of their size, weight and look, but the sound quality and assemble time were critical factors,” said Chuck Moses, senior sound engineer.
Folk singer Chava Alberstein in an acoustic trio was the first to use Rainbow’s new Nexo Geo system. “For a 380-seat room, we used just three boxes a side, a pair of S805s and a S830 with a CD12 sub bass. The result was fantastic. We moved the GEO S boxes behind the performer and away from the audience, and still had even coverage in the centre of the first row back to FOH, focusing the sound energy just in front of Chava downstage centre. Our load out took less than 35 minutes.”
Rainbow Sound currently supplies SR services to the Tri-State area, moving as far afield as Florida and Washington DC, with future plans for expansion. President Wayne Fairchild is making plans to double the company’s GEO S inventory.
