Milton Keynes, UK (June 16, 2006)–The legendary Monsters of Rock festival was recently held once again at the National Bowl, with SSE Audio supplying gear to bring Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, Queensryche, Journey, Thunder and Ted Nugent to a crowd of 60,000 fans. Ensuring that all could hear every deafening note, 85 Nexo Geo T boxes were put to hard use.
Alice Cooper was a titular charcter at this year’s Monsters of Rock festival, which wowed 60,000 fans with a Nexo Geo T loudspeaker system from SSE Audio.”Using Nexo’s proprietary GeoSoft package, we designed the Geo T system to stay contained within the Bowl, and cover the floor of the arena,” said Nick Pain of SSE. “It did such an admirable job when it came to the throw, there was no need for us to set up any delays.”
The Nexo Geo T system was configured in SSE’s by now customary L/C/R design. Left and right arrays of 26 T4805 cabinets plus two T2815s flew above a dozen CD18s, stacked in four columns of three. In front of the middle of the stage, three T2815 units were stacked on top of eight more CD18 subs. The system was powered by Camco Vortex 6 amplifiers, and processed by Nexo’s NX242s.
The Monsters of Rock was an all-analog affair, as SSE provided two Midas XL4s for front-of-house, with ‘festival racks’ of outboard, and Deep Purple and Alice Cooper brought their own guest boards. Nick Pain and Rob Hughes of SSE assisted at front-of-house.
