Boulder, CO (March 16, 2004)--Airshow Mastering announced today that Dominick Maita has joined the mastering staff as senior engineer in the company's Boulder studio complex. Maita brings more than 20 years in professional audio to his new post.

Maita's career has included stints as chief recording engineer at RPM Studios in New York City and as a freelance engineer/mixer throughout the U.S. and Europe. Most recently he was a mastering engineer at NYC's Sterling Sound. His recent mastering credits include projects by Darden Smith, Nnenna Freelon, Fall Out Boy, and Loudon Wainwright III. A guitarist and classically trained pianist, Dominick studied engineering with Bill Porter at the University of Miami's School of Music Engineering.

David Glasser, Airshow founder and chief engineer said, "Since our expansion last year we have been looking for a talented engineer to round out our crew. Dominick Maita has the kind of experience that works well at Airshow. Since he's a musician and an accomplished recording engineer, he's more valuable to our clients. He's also had experience with Super Audio CD, which is an important and growing part of our work here. For all the reasons that count, we think we've made a good match. He'll also be able to race his bicycle year-round in our mild climate."

Maita added, "Airshow has been very accommodating in preparing a room for my clients, and I've assembled my favorite gear from my New York experience." His set up includes a custom mastering console by Muth Audio, and analog processing gear from Manley, Sontec, Maselec, API and Tube Tech. Monitoring is by B&W Nautilus 801 speakers with Classe Omega amp. Sam Berkow designed the acoustics in the 420 square foot Studio B. "I know my clients will appreciate the similarities to my previouos room in monitoring and sonic processing," said Maita. "I hope they also appreciate the differences in the setting here, with a relaxed professional atmosphere and beautiful natural surroundings."

Maita joins another New York transplant working at Airshow. Kathryn Dean, formerly of Dreamhire and Classic Sound, is on staff in Boulder working in marketing and sales.
