Nashville (June 10, 2009)--One Systems was the official loudspeaker of the Bangkok Bananas Art and Culture Festival, held last month. The speakers were used on more than 40 stages, supporting more than 300 artists on-hand to promote Thai culture.
The Office of Contemporary Art and Culture, Ministry of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Bangkok Art and Culture, Central World, Siam Paragon, Siam Discovery, Siam Center and The Emporium all cooperated to plan and promote the event.
The speakers used throughout the festival included eight One Systems 212 CIM, eight 112 IM, four 218 SUB, eight 115 UM, and six 108 IM. The Music Zone presented Thai instrument shows by Bangkok Xylophone and by acclaimed xylophonist Narongrit Tosanga, as well as bands such as Kor Pai and Fong Nam. Also featured were young artists such as Teddy Ska, Apartment Khunpa, Paradox, Monotone group and Tattoo Colour.
"It is an honor that One Systems loudspeakers were selected for this prestigious cultural happening," says One Systems president, Doug MacCallum. "The festival was scheduled at the beginning of the rainy season in Thailand. Since all of our speaker systems are designed to work in Direct Weather applications, One Systems products were a perfect complement."
Speakers were installed for use in both indoor and outdoor venues, as well as for a variety of performances. One special performance was for Her Royal Princess Srirasm, Royal Consort to His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn and his Royal Highness Prince Dipangkorn Rasmijoti in Siam Paragon, as part of the festival. "It's not every day your products are used to perform for royalty," quipped MacCallum.
