San Francisco, CA (October 31, 2005)--Joaby Deal, senior mixer at One Union Recording recently completed a pair of commercial mixes, including a 5.1 mix for theatrical release, for the Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit video game due from Konami titled Eat Your Veggies.

Deal worked in Studio 3 at One Union, which boasts a Euphonix S-5 digital console and Digidesign Pro Tools 6.9.1, in order to get the sound right for the theatrical release. A second spot was mixed in stereo specifically for broadcast.

The popularity of 5.1 spots is growing, Deal reported. "I've been seeing more cinema spots and it feels like the 5.1 ball is starting to roll."

In fact, he's telling clients of the benefits of working with multiple channels. "The separation available in 5.1 is liberating from an audio standpoint," he explained. "With the six channels available we're really able to isolate the dialog, effects and music elements much easier and the mix can breathe much better."

Eat Your Veggies came to One Union from the Duncan-Channon agency. The spot was written by John Munyan and produced by Kyra Ivanoff, while Anne Lemme served as the art director.
