Cleveland, OH (January 12, 2010)–Paper Street Recording Studios, formerly Galahad Recording Studios, has replaced its original DAW controller Studio A with a Solid State Logic AWS 900+ SE console.
An uptick in business at the facility prompted a move into a new studio space and a change of name. Paper Street’s client base includes Grammy-nominated Lamb of God, Gene “The Atomic Clock” Hogland (drummer for Fear Factory and the Metalocalypse cartoon group Dethklok) and Platinum certified Bizzy Bone from Bone Thugs N Harmony.
“Working with a controller as a console simply wasn’t getting the job done for us,” says Patrick Lally, co-owner of Paper Street Recording Studios with Jason Popson. “When the opportunity came along for the SSL AWS 900+ SE, we jumped on it. We were using SSL 9000K channel strips, so we were very familiar with the great sound, so having a full console with this sound and power was amazing for our engineers and clients. Prior to the AWS 900+ SE, we all noticed that we had the ‘I wish it would do this’ concern with our controller/Pro Tools set up. Since installing the AWS, that wish factor has been fulfilled. The AWS 900+ SE can do everything and the clients know it. We are always good to go for any session.”
With the AWS 900+ SE in place and business growing, Paper Street has moved into a larger facility to meet increased client demand. Pivotal to this growth, the AWS 900+ SE provided Paper Street “with a sound that sells itself,” says studio co-owner Jason Popson. “When we bring in a client for the first time, we sit them down and pull up whatever we have been working on and they are sold on the sound. They like the fact that this is the latest SSL technology. There is a very big trust factor in the industry for SSL consoles.”
