New York (October 4, 2004)–One of the highest-profile musical events this fall is the Vote for Change tour, sponsored by the Move On PAC. The string of live concerts are being held in ‘swing’ states this month by various top acts, held in hopes of influencing local voters to remove George W. Bush from the White House come Election Day. Donating their time to the cause are a number of household names, including Bruce Springsteen, the Dixie Chicks, Dave Matthews Band and Pearl Jam.
For Pearl Jam’s run of concerts, audio gear is being provided by Rat Sound (Oxnard, CA). FOH engineer Greg Nelson will be manning both a Midas XL-4 and a Yamaha PM5D console, while monitor engineer Karrie Keyes will oversee a Yamaha PM4000M and a Ramsa 840 desk feeding . Audiences will get the band’s musical and political messages via an L-Acoustics V-Dosc and dV-Dosc rig, supplemented by Arcs, dV subs and Rat proprietary subs, all powered by Crown and Crest amps.
Also making the rounds with the tour are Nick Brisbois, crew chief / systems tech; Tommy LBC, systems tech; Kevin McKenzie, monitor tech; and production manager Jerry Gillend.
