San Bruno, CA (June 24, 2008)–NewBay Media has named Joe Perry group publisher of Guitar Player, Bass Player, Keyboard and EQ magazines, which make up the company’s Music Player Network. In this role, Perry assumes responsibility for overall advertising sales management of print, online and event properties for MPN. Perry will manage display-advertising directors Albert Margolis (Southwest), Greg Sutton (Northwest/new business development), Jessica Sullivan (Midwest) and Grace Newman (East) as well as the Specialty Sales team of Michael Montgomery (director), Allison Smith (North) and Will Sheng (South).
Perry most recently served as associate publisher for Penton Media’s EM and Remix publications for 10 years. Prior to that, he held a sales manager post at Roland serving the pro audio/broadcast/sound contracting markets, and managed sales at New England Digital. Perry began his music recording endeavors as a studio owner in Atlanta, where he recorded early sessions of noted acts R.E.M. and the Georgia Satellites. Perry has participated in the evolution of the commercial and personal studio for 30 years and remains a recording enthusiast as well as an avid guitar player to this day.

In related news, Albert Margolis has been named Southwest advertising director of Guitar Player, Bass Player, Keyboard and EQ magazines. In this role, Margolis assumes responsibility for advertising sales management of print, online and event properties in the Southwest territory consisting of southern California, Arizona and New Mexico.
Margolis most recently served the Southwest territory for the Penton Media’s Mix, EM and Remix publications for more than eight years. Prior to that, he held various marketing positions at Pioneer Electronics, and a sales post with EQ and Gig magazines. He recently received an MBA degree from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business with an entrepreneurship focus. Margolis plays keyboard for Leo Nocentelli of The Meters, a gig he has held for more than 10 years, and also does session work and gigs in and around the Los Angeles area.
Margolis states, “I am extremely pumped to have the privilege to work on the MPN brands at this particular time in their growth.
