New York, NY (January 29, 2004)--Underscoring the continuing expansion of her thriving CD/DVD replication cassette/VHS duplication and graphic design facility, Play-It Productions' principal Tony Tyler has announced the acquisition of DIGI-ROM, a leading full-service, NYC-based CD/DVD production company. Under the terms of the agreement the Digi-Rom staff and its full complement of audio mastering and replication, CD-ROM programming, DVD authoring and related interactive design technology will move to the recently expanded Play-It Productions complex at 259 West 30th Street in Manhattan.

Digi-Rom founder Harry Hirsch, a veteran studio owner/designer, recording/mastering engineer and former NARAS NY Chapter VP and National Trustee, has been named Play-It Productions' VP of technical Services. He will be involved in all aspects of production, post-production and client services.

"Both our companies entered the optical media field in 1993, and each has grown exponentially over the past 10 years," Tyler said. "Last fall Harry Hirsch contacted me about a project, and we established an immediate rapport. My acquisition proposal was motivated by conversations about our long-term goals. I had been exploring options for growing my business, and acquiring this well-established synergistic company presented a perfect solution."

In a related announcement, Play-It Productions is introducing a newly designed and built 5.1-ready mastering, digital editing and archival restoration suite, including overdub/voiceover and booth. The studio is equipped with Digidesign Pro Tools, a SADiE 24/96 DAW, a Cedar System and a wealth of digital and analog gear. "This studio is an important step in our plan to provide our clients with complete pre-and post-production services in a single comfortable and convenient environment," Tyler said.

"From our earliest conversations Tony Tyler and I found we had very much in common," Hirsch remarked. "While both our companies matured along similar lines, we had virtually no crossover client conflicts. Augmenting the Play-It staff with the DIGI-ROM team and bringing our duplication and multimedia technology on-line in this handsome new facility provides our clients with many economic and logistical advantages. These include faster turn-around, the elimination of redundancy in virtually all departments, and, perhaps most importantly, enhanced personal service. Tony Tyler is a highly motivated and energetic business woman," Hirsch adds. "Her client skills and technical savvy enabled her to build a very successful business, and I am delighted to be working with her."

Tyler sees a growing market for Play-It Productions. In addition to traditional independent artists and record labels she (like DIGI-ROM) has been serving a growing roster of corporate, automotive, pharmaceutical, government, educational and advertising agency clients. "We are confident that duplication and production needs for CD, CDR, DVD and other established and emerging formats will continue to grow," she said. "By providing our clients with a complete menu of recording, mixing, mastering, interactive design, DVD authoring (with video compression), digital editing, archival restoration, graphic design and replication capabilities we can meet all their needs for efficient and cost-effective production.

"We will continue to enhance our services with meaningful new technology as it develops," Tyler concludes, "that is another reason we are pleased that Harry Hirsch will play a daily role in the company. His experience is an invaluable asset."
