San Francisco, CA (August 14, 2006)–Jason J. Plunkett has been named director of operations at Crescendo! Studios in San Francisco. He assumes his duties at the audio post-production facility today.
Plunkett has been a member of the Crescendo! Studios staff since 1999, when he arrived in San Francisco from his home state of Indiana via Florida, where he attended the industry-known recording/media school, Full Sail Real World Education. At Crescendo!, he began as an intern and was promptly promoted to the position of receptionist. Soon he assumed additional duties and, in 2002, became scheduler for the facility. In 2004 he was appointed studio manager. As director of operations he will supervise and continue to expand all facets of the daily workings of the recording and mixing facility.
Plunkett will also oversee Crescendo’s sound design division, Resonante, and Voice Talent Casting, a new division at the facility offering an on-line database of San Francisco Bay Area voice actors, and casting services for producers and other clients. Voice Talent Casting launched at the beginning of August.
Also promoted at Crescendo! Studios is McKell A. Smith, who will assume the position of scheduler. Smith has been with Crescendo! since 2003, when he started as an intern. He was quickly hired as concierge, then CMR technician, and most recently assistant engineer. Originally from Salt Lake City, Smith earned a degree in recording arts at Full Sail in Florida.
Plunkett succeeds Cindy McSherry-Martinez who, after 16 years with Crescendo! Studios and its predecessor, Russian Hill Recording, has accepted a position as director of operations for Talking House Productions, a music production company and record label in San Francisco.
