New York, NY (August 24, 2007)--PostWorks, New York has brought Rocky Tortorella onboard as director of sound services for the company's expanding Soho location. Tortorella is a 30-year veteran of Sound One, a New York feature film audio post production facility where he most recently held the position of operations manager.
At Sound One, Tortorella contributed to hundreds of films, including many directed by filmmakers such as Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, Milos Forman and Jonathan Demme. During his tenure, he expanded the company's quality and customer service efforts, integrated new technologies and implemented new procedures to leverage those technologies for filmmakers. Tortorella has also participated in numerous industry panels for Dolby Labs.
Tortorella joins PostWorks at a busy time. The company's sound group--which shares resources between its midtown and Soho locations--is currently expanding to meet the demands of established and emerging filmmakers, and numerous major film studios and broadcasters. Between these locations, seven mix rooms are currently in operation (two of which are Dolby Printmaster-approved), and two more will come online over the weeks ahead.
"Considering my 30 years of experience working in audio post for feature films, I'm very happy to join the team at PostWorks," Tortorella said. "This company has enormous potential, and I expect to have my hands full handling the expansion and managing overall quality control for the company's sound services."
"PostWorks' sound group continues to focus on providing audio services that are unmatched," said PostWorks' sound group's general manager Bill Ivie. "The two new mix rooms in Soho will add even more depth to our capabilities, and Rocky's involvement will ensure that every project we handle will get world-class technical support, while also maximizing all the resources PostWorks has to offer."
