Burbank, CA (September 4, 2009)–Pro-Audio Alliance groups have been set up on Facebook and Plaxo social networks to provide an interactive forum for discussing topics of direct relevance to professionals involved in audio/video production industries.
“Professionals working with hardware manufacturers or facilities, or the trade media, are encouraged to participate in what we hope will be a highly animated forum,” advises PAA coordinator Mel Lambert, who established the groups in late August. “I encourage anybody who wants to have their voice heard on subjects impacting our industry to join the on-line correspondence.” A PAA group for LinkedIn is also under consideration.
“Our intention is to use these popular social networks to provide more collective discussions than can be achieved with conventional email,” Lambert considers. “With rapidly changing core technologies and marketing methodologies, we need to be able to respond more quickly. The first step is alerting one another to major influences within our industry – that is the primary role these interactive PAA groups can fulfill. Do we need such forums on each of the social networks? Almost certainly not. But until one network emerges as the leader for our purpose, then parallel groups might be a viable strategy. If it emerges that one network proves to be the most viable, then we would encourage users to migrate to whatever avenue gets the job done.”
Mel Lambert heads up Media&Marketing, which provides a range of marketing communications, PR relations and advertising strategies for equipment manufacturers and production facilities, and Content Creators, a one-stop resource for the words, graphics and visual elements.
