Stockholm, Sweden (May 28, 2010)--Propellerhead Software has started beta testing for Reason 5 and Record 1.5, planning for official release in late summer 2010.
According to the company, this is its biggest overhaul to the Record - Reason application family so far, introducing new instruments, effects, sequencing and more for composing, beatmaking, loop-mangling, vocal treatment, songwriting and music production.
Of note is the addition of rhythm software--Kong Drum Designer and Dr.OctoRex loop player—for creating rhythms, drums tracks and beats. Both applications will add Blocks Blocks, a new sequencing mode for song arranging, allowing pattern-based segments to be strung together quickly.
Other additions will include Neptune, a pitch correction tool/voice synthesizer, and live sampling. Additionally, the software has reportedly undergone extensive optimization, added an on-screen keyboard and expanded its Factory Sound Bank.
Upon release, upgrades will be handled by local distributors once new version become available. All prices remain the same, except for Reason for Record Owners, which will increase by €20/$20. Anyone who purchases the current editions of Reason, Record, the Duo or Record for Reason will get an upgrade to the new versions free of charge.
