Poland (March 21, 2006)-PSPaudioware has announced its new PSP Neon linear phase precision equalizers plug-in, available in two versions–the PSP Neon HR and PSP Neon. PSP has also recently finished porting its stereo dynamics processor plug-in, PSP MasterComp, to Mac OS X.
PSP Neon HRPSP Neon is a linear phase equalizer that offers eight bands of equalization, each of which can be assigned one of seven filter types. PSP Neon uses frequency-domain fast convolution-based linear phase algorithms for the best balance between CPU efficiency and phase accuracy. For those who want to use the analog-modeled PSP Neon filters in even more CPU critical applications, you can even toggle off the linear phase mode and take advantage of PSP Neon’s minimum phase error Infinite Impulse Response (IIR) mode.
PSP Neon also features, according to PSP, “one of our most user friendly interfaces ever.” The company expects this new plug-in to become a “go to” linear phase equalizer for mastering and other critical audio applications.
PSP Neon HR offers a number of features over the standard PSP Neon:
-Operation at high sample rates (up to 192kHz)
-PSP Audioware’s proprietary FAT mode
-Independent processing and control of each stereo channel
-Stereo and Mid-Side operation
-High and Max resolution modes for unparalleled fidelity in the most demanding applications
PSP is offering 14-day fully functional demos of both PSP Neon HR (iLok required) and PSP Neon. Minimum system requirements: Windows XP Intel Celeron 1GHz or faster processor; 256MB RAM or more; DX, RTAS, or VST compatible audio application; High Color S-VGA, 1024×768; iLok (for PSP Neon HR only); PACE InterLok Windows extensions 5.3.3 or later (PSP Neon HR only); Mac OS X 10.3.8 or newer; PowerPC G4 processor or better; 512MB RAM or more; AU, RTAS, or VST compatible audio application
PSP is currently working on porting its plug-ins to the Intel Mac platform, and reports, “It is too early for us to be able to offer you an exact time frame when we will deliver Universal Binary versions of our plug-ins but we can promise that in the case of these two plug-ins, PSP Neon (including Neon HR) and PSP MasterComp the crossgrade to the Intel Mac versions will be free. We will also offer free crossgrade options for all products purchased after 14th March 2006. In other cases we will most likely offer the crossgrade for a very small fee.”
MSRPs for these plug-ins are as follows:
PSP Neon HR — $299 (downloadable version)
PSP Neon — $149 (downloadable version)
PSP MasterPack — $569 (downloadable version; consists PSP Neon HR, PSP Neon, PSP VintageWarmer, PSP MasterComp, PSP MasterQ)
PSP also offers upgrade options for current users. For more information, visit www.PSPaudioware.com/plugins/neon.html.
