Costa Mesa, CA (November 11, 2005)--QSC Audio Products, Inc. has announced the latest addition to its loudspeaker line, the new HPR Series. According to the company, the self-powered HPR Series has been designed to deliver the "sonic performance of QSC's loudspeakers, complemented by the legendary power and reliability of QSC amplification."

While the self-powered loudspeaker has become a staple among recording, live sound, and A/V professionals, the majority of products currently available have been designed and created by loudspeaker manufacturer; according to QSC, this "typically leaving the amplifier as the system's weakest link. With the HPR Series, QSC has designed a powered loudspeaker system with the same top-quality discrete components and rigorous standards used in QSC's rack-mounted amplifiers, and perfectly matched it to its speaker componentry."

The speakers feature 13-ply birch enclosures, tour-grade 16-gauge steel grilles, ergonomic handles and 3" castors on the HPR181W. The HPR152F is a two-way, bi-amplified 15" system delivering 500 watts of continuous power with an extended frequency range of 48 Hz - 20,000 Hz and a coverage pattern of 90° x 60°. The HPR153F is a three-way, horn-loaded design featuring a 15" low frequency driver, a 6" midrange and 1.4" compression driver. With a dispersion pattern of 90° x 40° and 600 watts of continuous power, the HPR153F has an extended frequency range of 37 Hz - 20,000 Hz.

The new HPR Series also features the HPR151W, a 15" subwoofer capable of outputting 133dB of peak SPL and a low frequency response down to 43 Hz, as well as the HPR181W, an 18" subwoofer with a peak SPL of 134dB and a range to 39Hz. Both models offer 700 watts of power for low-end reinforcement in any sound system, with flexible input signal processing and multiple connectivity options.

"For over 35 years, QSC has been making everyone else's speakers sound great," remarked QSC Audio CEO Barry Andrews. "With the HPR Series, we've taken our undisputed leadership in amplifier technology and fused it with our rapidly growing dominance as a major force in loudspeaker design. The HPR Series is a self-powered loudspeaker system worthy of the QSC name."
