Opelika, AL (February 28, 2008)–The auction of Quantegy Recording Solutions’s complete manufacturing facility commenced this morning at 10 a.m. EST and will close on March 5 at noon, EST.
The Hilco Organization, a Farmington Hills, MI-based asset valuation, disposition, acquisition and financing provider, is handling the auction through its Hilco Industrial division. The auction is being conducted online at www.hilcoind.com.
Equipment being auctioned includes Ampex and Studer tape machines, Sony and Panasonic digital VCRs, test and measuring equipment, and the complete contents of multiple workshops. These contents include computer equipment, oscilloscopes, signal generators, noise and amp meters, and test equipment.
For further information, interested parties can contact Mark Reynolds at (205) 595-5999 or email@example.com.
Though Quantegy ceased production of magnetic tape and stopped accepting orders one year ago today, two manufacturers have moved to fill the void. Currently, Netherlands-based RMG International (with North American headquarters in New Buffalo, MI) and York, PA-based ATR Magnetics manufacture tape in quarter-, half-, one- and two-inch configurations.
