I've owned Quik-Lok products before and found them soundly and simply built. The BS series speaker stands are no exception. They come in two fixed heights, 36" (BS336 - $149.95) and 42" (BS342 - $159.95). Applications for the BS342s would be for closefield monitors behind the console. The BS336s are perfect for use at home for L-R or surround speaker stands.

At the floor, the base is a triangle from which three legs rise to meet, forming a substantial base for the speaker to sit on. The back leg is hollow, permitting cables to be run internally. The ports for the cables come with a rubber cover for the metal edge. Two adhesive-backed rubber pads for each stand isolate the speaker from its metal base.

For isolation from the floor you have the option of screwing in three metal spikes at the base. As usual with Quik-Lok products, there is minimal assembly and once assembled, fit and finish are solid.

The concept behind the RS 954 ($189.95) couldn't be simpler, as the photo above right shows. The rack rails are welded to a tubular frame, the lower 10 rails are angled and the top 10 are vertical. This is great for gear such as MDMs that need to be kept flat. Quik-Lok provides everything needed for assembly - a wrench for installing the wheels, hex bolts and even rack screws with washers.

Assembly is so matter-of-fact there are no instructions included, nor are any needed. The stand is incredibly sturdy for something so simple. I put in an ADAT and four or five other pieces of heavy gear and never felt iffy about the stability of it all. For those of you in tight spaces and on a tight budget, this is the organizer for you.
