Los Angeles, CA (March 22, 2006)--On Sunday, April 30th, The Village Recorder, GC Pro and Monster Cable will present an interactive conference dedicated to learning the key tools that will help you survive in the music industry. A one-day conference, "From Home to Studio" will offer key techniques for creating quality home studio recordings as well as teaching the "core essentials" to a successful career in audio engineering.

Registration began March 20th and there are a limited number of seats available, so for more information on the conference and to register, visit www.soyoureanaudioengineer.com or call 818-602-1888.

The conference has been inspired by engineer David Hampton, who has authored a new book entitled, So, You're an Audio Engineer. . . Well, Here's the Other Stuff You Need to Know. With over 20 years in the industry, Hampton's book presents real-world advice on how to work consistently and have a successful career as an audio engineer.

"There are so many lessons to be learned when you enter the music business, but there are not enough resources to help you along the way," said Hampton. "I wrote this book for those who want to be successful at every level, setting yourself apart from others, both professionally and as a human being." Hampton has worked across the globe touring and designing some of the most state-of-the-art home and major recording studio facilities. He has helped to pave the way for the new young audio engineers and has worked with some of the industry's biggest names such as Babyface, Chicago, Herbie Hancock and Prince.

Conference attendees will benefit from panel discussions and get some one-on-one time in the special studio super sessions with some talented engineers and producers, including Jose "Chilitos" Valenzuela and Khaliq Glover. There will also be a Q&A with a guest panel. Special guest panelists include: Bobby and Izzy Avila, Neal Pogue, Ralph P. Sutton, and Scottie Pakulski. Jeff Greenberg, CEO of The Village Recorder, will offer conference attendees a behind-the-scenes look at the historical recording studio.

"From Home to Studio" is being promoted as a great way to get connected and interact with industry leaders who know what it's going take to make it in the music industry. The event will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at The Village Recorder in West Los Angeles: 1616 Butler Ave., West Los Angeles, CA 90025.
