Quincy, IL (June 1, 2009)--Broadcast Electronics' (BE) new AudioVAULT FleX studio automation system is at the center of the first internet radio station in Bangladesh, which went live recently.
Radio Dhaka is owned and operated by Dhakacom, which is part of Partex Holdings, Ltd. of Bangladesh, and began live programming on May 20 as www.radiodhaka.net from its new AudioVAULT-hosted control studio in Dhaka, sending music and talk 24/7 over the internet. The service will also feature live radio jock chats and video streaming of the studios as well as live music performances.
"We are honored to participate in the introduction of the first live internet radio station in Bangladesh that will be of service to the local population in Bangladesh as well as the many Bangladeshis living and working away from home," said Frank Massa, Asia Pacific sales manager with BE.
Radio Dhaka's new studio complex includes a production studio, voiceover booth and a large performance studio operated by and networked through the BE AudioVAULT FleX digital media system. From any studio in the complex, Radio Dhaka announcers and producers have access to a centralized music library and a full range of support tools to collaborate, create and manage content.
"Our internet service subscribers were asking for this type of service, so we quickly engineered this studio with Broadcast Electronics. BE's AudioVAULT was the perfect system to work with Dhakcom's National Fiber Infrastructure and state-of-the-art International Gateway to handle live programming over the internet. BE also has a very strong reputation in Bangladesh for being very customer service oriented, which is why most of the broadcasters here use BE FM and studio products, us included," said M.A. Hakim, COO at Dhakacom.
