Prague, Czechoslovakia (December 3, 2004)–Radio Prague, which broadcasts across the Czech Republic from its studios in the capital city, has completed the installation of a Studer Vista 7 digital mixing console in a newly refurbished music production suite.
Although this is the second Vista digital desk to be delivered to the Czech Republic, it follows more than 20 Studer OnAir consoles into the studios of Radio Prague. The digital console has been installed in Studio A in Karlin, a music production studio that has a long and distinguished history but which has been completely renovated, with a new master control room, and is now seen as a reference studio for small and medium size orchestras and bands (up to 20 musicians).
Studio A, with its 30-fader Vista 7, will be used for recording and mastering the music of a wide variety of performers, from pop to traditional folk music, but with an emphasis on the classical tradition for which Prague is famous. There are also plans to use the studio for film dubbing in the future.
Libor Havlicek, of AudiTech s.r.o., Studer’s distributor in the Czech Republic, notes that the brand’s reputation is very strong in the country. “Studer has been the gold standard here for the last 30 years because everyone appreciates the company’s track record and the robustness and reliability of the products. Radio Prague is expecting to get at least 15 years of service from this console, so they wanted to use one of the best products that Studer had available, namely the Vista.”
