Austin, TX (July 11, 2006)—The Recording Academy Texas Chapter and the Producer & Engineer Wing have put together a special event for this Saturday night, during the Summer NAMM Convention in Austin, TX. The Grammy Professional Development Event, “Here, There And Everywhere: A Conversation With Beatles’ Engineer Geoff Emerick,” will take place at Austin City Limits at 6:30 Saturday evening, after the convention.
Legendary recording engineer Geoff Emerick will be speaking to bassist and music educator Chuck Rainey, a member of the Texas Chapter of The Recording Academy and The Academy’s Producers & Engineers Wing. Emerick’s credits include the Beatles’ Revolver, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Magical Mystery Tour and Abbey Road, as well as top-selling albums for America, Supertramp, Paul McCartney and Elvis Costello, among others.
“Here, There And Everywhere” will delve behind the scenes into the creative and technical processes of this remarkable engineer that led to some of the greatest music of the last 40 years. Check out the following details if you’ll be in Austin and would like to attend:
