Renkus-Heinz has launched the IC2 (IC Squared), "the world's first high powered, medium format digitally steerable loudspeaker system," at the PALME in Dubai, a major Pro Audio, Lighting, Music, A/V and Systems Integration show for the Middle East. IC2 is designed for theatre and club installations and integrating digital beam steering with high power output, built in amplification and RHAON network control. According to Renkus-Heinz, "IC2 sets a new benchmark in live sound loudspeaker design by combining the control and flexibility of Iconyx digitally steerable technology with the power and focus of a point source loudspeaker, creating the world's first 'hybrid array' with the full benefits of both technologies."
Four 8-inch low frequency Neodymium transducers and 1-inch Titanium Nitride coated HF drivers offer high SPL point source performance, while individual steering control of each driver gives the IC2 exceptional vertical pattern control for maximum intelligibility by delivering up to four separately controllable beams. Each IC2 two-way 8-inch module delivers articulate musicality with a versatile design that can be used as a stand-alone high-performance loudspeaker, a small ground stack or a flown array of up to 20 cabinets.
