Detroit, MI (February 20, 2008)–RingSide Creative has added original music composition and licensing to its roster of services for the advertising and media industries. The company has also instituted interactive media production and added resources in its motion design group.
The moves are aimed at advertising agencies and media companies whose campaigns involve components spanning a variety of media, from broadcast commercials to advertising for the web and mobile devices, viral campaigns, and branded entertainment. According to RingSide Creative owner Doug Cheek, agencies have begun to seek out creative partners that can provide a broader range of services than traditional production and postproduction vendors, and assist in the creation of multi-dimensional advertising projects from concept through delivery.
RingSide Creative’s new music services are intended to support both its traditional broadcast advertising business and new media projects. Heading the original music composition and licensing division are Jay Scott, the company’s director of audio and music services, and Les Schefman, a composer and entertainment lawyer who will serve as executive producer.
In addition to Schefman, the group will utilize staff sound designer and composer John Garstecki, who recently created the music and sound design for a video that opens concerts on Carrie Underwood’s current tour. Additionally, this trio has formed relationships with publishers and artists from across the country and worldwide who can be tapped for original music, licensing of existing tracks and as performers. Schefman also has the experience to negotiate music licensing agreements for agencies.
