Eden Praire, MN (May 25, 2004)–Rorke Data, a subsidiary of San Jose-based Bell Microproducts, Inc., announced that the company’s Galaxyi series of RAID and SAN solutions for the broadcast and entertainment market was awarded the Digital Video Professionals Association (DVPA) “Best Network Storage Solution” Award at NAB2004. The DVPA is an organization of new media professionals devoted exclusively to meeting the needs of those who use DV technology.
Rorke Data’s RAID and SAN solutions were installed and integrated for demonstration at over 20 NAB exhibitor booths including industry leading companies with diverse requirements such as Sony, Matrox, Nversion and Leitch. The DVPA award is a further acknowledgment of broad industry adoption of Rorke Data storage solutions

Integrating Western Digital’s enterprise-class WD Caviar Special Edition (SE) Serial ATA (SATA) hard drives provide Galaxyi users with 250GB capacity per drive, an 8MB buffer and 7,200 RPM to ensure fast access to data including multi-gigabyte graphic and digital image files.
