Among the guest artists were Sting, Steven Tyler, Yo-Yo Ma and Josh Groban, along with the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

Schmitt recorded the show on Remote Recording's Neve VR console, and used KRK E8s for monitoring. Shure Beta 98H mics were used on Botti's trumpet; his vocal mic was a Shure KSM9.

"Working with [Remote Recording's] David [Hewitt] and Karen [Brinton] was a great experience," said Schmitt. "I know the project was a success because of the way everything was handled. Both Chris Botti and his manager, Bobby Colomby, were impressed with the professional manner of Remote Recording. You guys are the best!"

The CD release date is scheduled for late November; the DVD's release date has not been announced.
