Old Lyme, CT (July 1, 2009)--The ENG sets from Sennheiser's G3 evolution wireless series offer professional technology for reporting and interviews. Four systems each combine the compact EK 100 G3 diversity receiver with different transmitters, thus reportedly creating the optimum solutions for every application.

"With their automatic frequency management and wireless transmitter synchronization, the G3 products ensure that ENG teams are ready for action in no time," said product manager Martin Fischer. "The rugged metal housings of the transmitters and camera receiver have proven themselves in tough everyday reporting."

According to the company, the most important new feature of the ENG sets is the Adaptive Diversity operation of the camera receiver. Here, the receiver's line cable takes on the function of the second antenna, "A very efficient and effective 'trick' to make reception even more reliable," Fischer added.

The ew 100 ENG G3 system makes up a complete set of reporting equipment. In addition to the camera receiver, the set also includes a bodypack transmitter with a clip-on microphone as well as a plug-on transmitter to convert wired dynamic microphones and battery-powered condenser microphones to wireless. A shoe mount adaptor and camera cables round off the system.

Those who prefer a handheld wireless microphone will be served by Set ew 135-p. Its handheld transmitter has a cardioid pickup pattern, thus effectively eliminating noise originating from behind.

Sets ew 112-p and ew 122-p each combine the diversity camera receiver with a bodypack transmitter and a clip-on microphone. The ME 2 with an omni-directional pickup pattern from Set ew 112-p G3 is reportedly insensitive to wind and pop noise. The microphone is also targeted for less-experienced interviewees, as it excuses movements of the head and varying speaking distances from the microphone to a certain extent. The ME 4 clip-on microphone with a cardioid pickup pattern (Set ew 122-p G3) is for interviews in rooms where a PA system is also being used. It picks up less surrounding noise and is less sensitive to feedback.

Most of the ENG Sets have been released, with the exception of the ew 100 ENG G3 system, which will be available this month.
