Niles, IL (July 20, 2005)–Shure Incorporated is now shipping its new sound isolating E4 earphones. Equipped with high-definition drivers and tuned-port technology, the E4s join an existing line of professional Shure isolating earphones including the E2, E3, and E5 models.
Suited for use with Shure’s PSM line of personal monitor systems in both live performance and studio recording applications, each set of E4 earphones comes with earpieces outfitted with a high-energy/low mass micro-transducer providing wide-frequency stereo sound, sonic accuracy, and total isolation from outside noise. Sensitivity at 1 KHz is rated at 122 dB SPL/mW, while impedance is 110 ohms (also at 1K). Gold-plated stereo output connectors with a 1/8-inch plug are also part of the package, and 61 inches of cable is supplied. E4 sound isolating earphones
“The E5 was designed to have high resolution at high output, which makes it ideal for stage use,” said Matt Engstrom, associate product manager, personal audio products. “Our intent with the E4 was to make it equally suitable for stage and studio. The result is a tonal balance that is very true to the source material.”
The stereo E4s were designed to rest comfortably within the ear, providing both a tight seal for sonic isolation and a secure fit. Like all other professional-grade E Series earphones, the E4s are capable of being used with foam, flex, or triple-flange accessory sleeves. Each E4’s 1/8-inch to 1/4-inch adaptor plug additionally makes it perfect for use in a wide variety of other personal audio applications.
