Niles, IL (July 26, 2005)–Shure Incorporated announced today that it is the title sponsor for the Grammy Foundation’s inaugural Grammy Camp, which opens on July 30, 2005, and continues through August 7, at Citrus College in Glendora, CA.
“As an organization, Shure has been dedicated to educating musicians for years by supplying them with learning tools like newsletters and books, and offering presentations around the world,” said Terri Johnson, director of marketing communications, Shure U.S. “Grammy Camp gives us a chance to put our products into the hands of young musicians and music students in a highly interactive learning environment. We are very excited to be involved in this program and extremely grateful that the Grammy Foundation invited us to participate.”
Grammy Camp is a nine-day interactive experience for high school students to explore five music career tracks that will be integrated together to culminate in a recording and showcase performance. College faculty, Grammy-winning professionals and industry specialists will provide hands-on instruction grounded in both academic and real-world applications.

Shure is generously providing much of the gear that will be used by our students throughout the week of camp as they learn about recording, producing and performing music.”
The curriculum will cover the creative process and technical aspects of performing, recording and distribution while emphasizing new and emerging technologies impacting the music industry. A total of 50 high school students from around the U.S. have been selected to participate in this year’s Grammy Camp.
