London (February 27, 2006)–James Blunt’s “You’re Beautiful” is the number one song in America this week on Billboard‘s singles chart, and the UK singer is off touring Europe with Skan PA Hire supplying a Midas Heritage 2000 for front of house and a Heritage 3000 for monitors.
Mike Hornby is using a Midas Heritage 2000 at the FOH position on the current James Blunt European tour. Both engineers–Mike Hornby at front of house and Mick Brown on stage–are long time Midas users and felt that the desks suited Blunt’s organic, musical show. “I particularly like the Heritage 3000 for the EQ and gain, and it’s perfect for a show like this, which is very musical with everything played live,” said Brown. “We also rely heavily on the service provided by Skan–2the support they give us is first class.”
At front of house, Brown’s comments are echoed by Hornby. “We’ve kept everything as simple and natural as possible,” he said. “The idea is to give the whole show a kind of retro, almost Seventies feel.” Blunt has been playing in venues across Europe, and will hit the U.S. in March before heading off to Australia and Japan.
