New York (May 20, 2004)--Tonic Bar, an emerging hotspot in New York City, has installed a number of SLS Loudspeakers in its sports bar, lounge and restaurant. Tonic opened for business in April and aims to set a example for bars and restaurants, boasting a sound system that augments numerous large screen and plasma televisions.

The audio system includes SLS' T28R dual 8-inch speakers; US1290TI 12-inch speakers, US 215W Dual 15-inch speakers and a pair of18-EL Dual 18-inch boxes.

"We wanted an audio system that would be powerful enough to pump the big, booming club songs, yet gentle enough to provide ambient sound in a sports bar setting," said Top DJ Gear's Grant Riddell, who performed the audio install in Tonic. "The SLS speakers are demonstrative and meaty, but not intrusive. They possess amazing clarity, which equates to great audio whether it's an energetic song or the vocal broadcast of a football game."

"I have tried numerous other speakers and there has always been something missing," said Steve Daly, general manager of Tonic. "I was looking for a clean, crisp sound and the SLS system delivered wonderfully. I have several other nightclubs and bars in New York City and I am working to put SLS in all of them. They were reasonably priced, sound just fantastic and give us a competitive edge."
