Los Angeles (February 23, 2009)--Among the eight Academy Awards won for Slumdog Millionaire last night, the Oscar for Achievement in Sound Mixing went to Ian Tapp, Richard Pryke and Resul Pookutty.

The Academy Award for Sound Editing was taken by Richard King for The Dark Knight. King previously won an Oscar for Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, in 2004, and was nominated for War of the Worlds in 2006.

Slumdog Millionaire also took the Best Original Score and Best Original Song Oscars.

The 81st Academy Awards, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, were held at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles.
