New York, NY (June 2, 2006)–Grammy-nominated engineer/mixer Vaughan Merrick will lead a Sony Oxford Plug-in Special Event beginning at 6PM on Wednesday, June 14th at the Dale Pro Audio Event Room in New York City. Merrick has engaged the full range of Sony Oxford Plug-ins on hits for artists ranging from The Chemical Brothers, Robbie Williams, Sean Paul and Brooke Valentine to Tristan Prettyman and Juliet. Dale Pro Audio (www.daleproaudio.com) is located at 22 W. 19th Street, 2nd Floor.
Co-sponsored by Sony Pro Audio (www.sony.com/professional) and Digidesign (www.digidesign.com), the two-hour event will provide attendees with insights and tips on how to achieve maximum potential from Oxford EQ, Limiter, Transient Modulator, Inflator, Dynamics and Reverb Plug-Ins.
“Our experience has been that when professional engineers have a chance to hear what Oxford Plug-Ins are capable of they’re inspired to experiment themselves,” said Paul Foschino, senior marketing manager for professional audio at Sony Electronics. “In addition to having Vaughan Merrick on board to handle the demos, we’ve invited Sony Oxford product manager Rod Densham, sales & marketing manager Nathan Eames and Digidesign product specialist Tony Cariddi to provide in-depth answers to technical questions.
“This event will be a terrific learning and networking opportunity,” Foschino concluded. “To make it even more inviting at a special drawing after the presentation, one lucky attendee will receive a full TDM Oxford Six Pack*, and two others will each receive Oxford Limiter Plug-Ins.”
Seating for this event is limited to 40, and Sony suggests that anyone interested in attending RSVP to Tricia at Shoreview Distribution 508-623 1813 or firstname.lastname@example.org ASAP.
Plug-ins available in the Oxford 6 Pack include: the fully-automatable EQ; Dynamics, which features separate Compress, Limit, Expand, Gate and Side Chain EQ functions; Transient Modulator, which allows the modification of dynamic level and expedites the shift of transient events up or back in the recording to emphasize or soften individual instruments; Inflator, a unique process providing an increase in apparent loudness without the obvious loss of quality or reduction of dynamic range; Reverb, a flexible stereo reverberation generator that permits the creation of countless virtual spaces, from dry, reflective or textured ambiences to room and hall simulations; and Limiter, which is designed to help reduce the risk of sample overloads or reconstructed errors in end-user equipment. According to Sony, the Limiter Plug-in can provide recordings with unprecedented volume and punch far beyond that available from conventional limiting functions.
The Oxford 6 Pack Plug-in Bundle for ProTools HD and LE systems is currently available at a suggested list price of $2,695 (HD) and $1,075 (LE).
