New York, NY (July 30, 2009)--Sound One, part of the CSS Studios family of facilities, is working on upcoming features Amelia and Shanghai.
Sound One is currently providing sound editing, ADR and mixing facilities for Amelia, which is scheduled for an October 23rd release by Fox Searchlight Pictures. Oscar winner Dominick Tavella (Chicago) is re-recording mixer. A biopic about Amelia Earhart, the film is written by Oscar-winner Ron Bass (Rain Man), directed by Mira Nair (Monsoon Wedding) and stars two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank. L.A. Times blogger Scott Feinberg has pegged it as an Oscar contender.
Sound One is providing sound editing, ADR and mixing facilities for Shanghai, from The Weinstein Company, also due out in October. Michael Barry (Michael Clayton) is re-recording mixer. Starring John Cusack, Chow Yun-Fat and Gong Li, the film tells the story of an American intelligence officer investigating a murder in China on the eve of World War II.
Sound One is home to five re-recording studios, two ADR studios, a Foley studio with a comprehensive prop collection, and nearly one hundred editing suites. It is located on Broadway in the historic Brill Building in midtown Manhattan.
