Oslo, Norway (May 7, 2004)--Oslo’s new Rock Bottom live music club, part of the well-established blues club Muddy Waters, has opened for business with a sound system comprised completely from Harman Professional Group products delivered and installed by distributor LydRommet AS.

Between them, Rock Bottom and Muddy Waters are expected to host in excess of 750 blues and rock gigs a year. Rock Bottom, located in the building’s basement, is the larger of the venues--a 300-capacity club with a low ceiling height and PA rig with a delay system, plus additional speaker zones to cover two bar areas.

The all-JBL speaker cabinets, powered by Crown MA and MT amplifiers, are under the control of a BSS Soundweb, acting as the total system manager and routing unit, programmed with presets for different distribution applications. The Front-of-House position is anchored by a new 32-channel Soundcraft MH3 console, augmented with dbx and Lexicon outboard equipment.

The whole system was planned carefully by LydRommet AS in close cooperation with Rock Bottom’s senior engineer and technical manager, Kjartan Meinseth. The aim throughout the process had been to provide the best high-end audio equipment and to make it fit into a very challenging acoustic environment. The resulting system is capable of delivering 114dB average SPL and 125dB maximum peak SPL at FOH.
