Knoxville, TN (March 5, 2008)–Sound.org, an independent publisher of audio-related books and multimedia titles, has announced a new relationship with the Hal Leonard Corporation. Sound.org’s OpenMix titles will be distributed in the U.S. and Canada exclusively by Hal Leonard.
OpenMix titles are unique tutorial book and multiple DVD sets, developed by Sound.org, allowing readers to open up a complete mixing session in the DAW of their choice and follow expert advice on recording, mixing and mastering, and create their own mix or remix. Current titles include The Trance Experience: An Introduction to Electronic Dance Music by DJ/producer Torsten Fassbender, and Production Mixing Mastering by producer/composer Anthony Egizii. Upcoming titles will cover all aspects of music production as well as guitar sound, all written and guided by recording producers and mixing engineers.
Asher Bitansky, director of business development for Sound.org, states, “We are pleased to partner with Hal Leonard for the distribution of our OpenMix titles. We develop each title with painstaking detail, and Hal Leonard’s excellent reputation and breadth of distribution certainly complement that. We are confident that Hal Leonard will help Sound.org and OpenMix achieve a new level of visibility.”
David Jahnke, vice-president of national sales for Hal Leonard, comments, “Hal Leonard is proud to exclusively distribute OpenMix tutorials to the music trade. Recording is such a hot category for our retailers, and Sound.org is a leader in the field. These book/CD-ROM packs are a marvelous addition to our constantly expanding software offerings.”
