Burlington, VT (November 9, 2004)--SoundToys Inc. (formerly Wave Mechanics), announced EchoBoy TDM, "the ultimate echo machine" and the latest toy in the SoundsToys(tm) line of plug-ins for Digidesign Pro Tools systems at the AES Convention. Available in December 2004 for $495, EchoBoy TDM is a fully-featured studio quality echo/delay for Pro Tools systems.

Featuring intricate rhythm capabilities thanks to SoundToys' new True Groove rhythm technology, EchoBoy TDM lets users change the rhythm of their delays to allow the echo to swing and jam along with the mix. EchoBoy TDM includes adjustable swing/shuffle and accent for a truly musical echo sound. Users can tweak the feel control from 'rushin' to 'draggin' so the echo hits right where it sounds best. MIDI tempo locking also lets users lock to the session tempo with the flip of a switch.

Loaded with professionally crafted presets and plenty of tweakable features, EchoBoy TDM is intuitive and easy to use. The new plug-in offers a wide range of sounds and echo styles ranging from pristine digital delays, to smooth prime number delays, to warm chorused echoes, tape emulation and lo-fi effects. Extensive tweak menus offer an unlimited scope for the custom creation of totally unique timbres and effects.

"With EchoBoy TDM, we've created the ultimate echo machine, combining the hit making, pro studio sound of all the top hardware echoes, with a level of flexibility and control never before available for Pro Tools system," commented Ken Bogdanowicz, SoundToys CEO and founder. "And you don't have to spend a fortune on a stack of hardware."

EchoBoy TDM is loaded with a host of other features including single, dual, ping-pong and rhythm modes, dynamics control, low and high EQ with decay shaping, bit depth (Lo-Fi) control, stereo imaging control, advanced analog mode and true TDM (not HTDM) support, with up to 5 seconds of delay on Pro Tools HD Accel systems.

Effects designer and SoundToys beta tester Andrew Schlesinger commented, "Echo Boy is another powerful, intelligent and really well designed plug in. It's incredibly powerful yet easy to use and sounds absolutely wonderful--it can produce all my favorite types of delay effects from classic warm wobbly analog/tape to clear, clean accurate repeats to rhythmic grooves."

EchoBoy TDM works in Digidesign's TDM, RTAS and AudioSuite plug-in formats and supports Pro-Tools HD, LE and HD Accel. For further information about SoundToys and EchoBoy TDM, or to download a 14 day free demo version please go to
