Birmingham, UK (August 4, 2004)–SSE Hire has a busy fall already lined up, making the most of its inventory of Nexo, Midas, InnovaSon, Yamaha and Camco live sound gear.
September finds the company with the theatrical show, Stomp at the Vaudeville Theatre in London, where FOH man Mike Roberts will mix on a Yamaha 02R96 desk to a Nexo Alpha E system powered by Camco amps. Elsewhere in London, the company will supply an InnovaSon Grand Live desk and a Crown-powered Nexo PS 15 and S2 rig for Top of the Pops.
The BBC News Roadshow will run around the UK that month, with engineer Baldev Rayat mxing on a Behringer MX1604 to a Nexo PS8 PA. Meanwhile, in SSE Hire’s hometown of Birmingham, Artsfest will be held at Centenary Square–the audio supplier will provide a pair of Midas Heritage 3000s for FOH, various Midas XL3s for monitors, and a Camco-powered Nexo Geo T, PS15 rig.
Running through September and October, the company will hit the road with Sarah Brightman for a tour of Europe. FOH engineer Colin Bolond will mix on a Yamaha PM1D as will monitor engineer Andreas Linde-Buchner; the PA will be a Nexo Geo-T rig.
Also speeding through the UK and Europe those two months will be a Slayer/Slipknot double-bill. Engineers Dave Nicholl and Tim Quinby will mix on a Midas XL4, while monitors will be handled with a Midas Heritage 3000. A Nexo Alpha rig powered by Camco will be along for the ride.
Finally, this year’s hot new band, Franz Ferdinand, will take a victory lap around the UK in October, with a Midas Heritage 3000 manned at FOH by Mike Parker, even as monitor engineer Tilda Bruynooghe mixes on a Midas XL3. SSE Hire will supply a Camco-powered Nexo Alpha system for the run.
