Solid State Logic’s new Duende PCIe.Frankfurt, Germany (March 18, 2008)-At Musikmesse, Solid State Logic launched new products including Duende PCIe and the MadiXtreme family of multichannel PCIe audio cards for Mac and PC.
PCIe is a high-bandwidth, half-length, full height slot-in PCIe card that works in both PCs and Macs. Duende PCIe matches the processing power of its 19-inch Classic Duende sister with DSP processing power available to drive up to 32 channels of plug-in processing (at sample rates up to 96kHz) within a host application. Users can run two Duende PCIe units on a single computer system for up to 64 channels of processing. It can also partner with FireWire-connected Duende Mini or Classic to achieve increased channel processing count.
Duende is based on the DSP technology behind SSL’s C-Series digital consoles; Duende PCIe ships with the EQ and Dynamics Channel and the Duende Bus Compressor plug-ins. PCIe also ships with trial versions of the growing portfolio of plug-ins available for the Duende platform, including Drumstrip, X-EQ and X-Comp. Duende Plug-ins are compatible with any VST, AudioUnit or RTAS host application (RTAS supported through the use of VST-RTAS wrapper).
Meanwhile, MadiXtreme is SSL’s new family of multichannel PCIe audio cards for Mac and PC. Featuring the manufacturer’s PCIe-Core Audio Pipeline technology, MadiXtreme takes advantage of the high speeds and bandwidth offered by the PCIe bus on modern computers. There are two versions available: the single head MadiXtreme and the dual head MadiXtreme 128.
MadiXtreme supports applications through its SSL Soundscape Family Drivers. The drivers are fully multi-client capable (allowing several applications to simultaneously access the device) and allow multi-card configurations (up to 6 cards per system if enough PCIe slots are available).
Duende PCIe will be available worldwide through SSL Resellers in April 2008. MadiXtreme will be available worldwide through selected SSL Resellers from May 2008.
