Hamburg (May 14, 2004)–Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH has announced that the latest version of its WaveLab audio editing and mastering application is now shipping to resellers worldwide. Offering full multichannel surround support, a video track and DVD-Audio mastering and authoring, WaveLab5 again sets new standards in audio editing and mastering software, and will cost $699.99.
One of the major new releases in Steinberg’s 20th anniversary year, WaveLab 5 now encompasses a full set of DVD-Audio mastering and authoring tools, making WaveLab5 the first application to support both CD audio and DVD-A formats within a unified interface. WaveLab 5 is also the first and currently only application to combine all aspects of stereo and multichannel high-resolution audioediting, processing, mastering and DVD-Audio authoring/burning.
“WaveLab 5 is without doubt the most important update yet for what has become a classic among mastering tools. We are, of course, very proud to be able to offer surround and video support in WaveLab,” commented Arnd Kaiser, Steinberg’s senior product manager for music technology. “But perhaps even more important is the fact that every CD mastering studio with WaveLab can now also offer DVD-Audio authoring without having to undergo extra training for DVD-A. We’re convinced that WaveLab will play no small part in increasing the popularity and acceptance of this exciting medium,” concluded Kaiser.
With full multichannel surround support and DVD-A mastering and authoring, WaveLab 5 is priced at $699.99.
