Dallas, TX (July 27, 2007)--Stephen Arnold Music has completed two new custom news packages for television stations in Las Vegas and Austin. Las Vegas One and Austin's KXAN-TV received, and are now airing, music composed by the award-winning music production company.
Using unique aural signatures, each station's package is designed to create a distinct and effective sonic identity while complementing the new overall look and feel of its newscasts. "Today's viewers, who are already confronted with an explosion of content choices, see television as only one small part of their multitasking lifestyles," said Arnold. "That's why it is more important than ever for stations to find innovative ways to stand out. Las Vegas One and KXAN-TV have each recognized and responded to this call, and we were very happy to help 'make some noise' for them through sonic branding."
Las Vegas One called upon Stephen Arnold Music to develop custom themes around its three signature shows, News at 9, Face to Face and In Business. The energetic and progressive package, which began airing on July 9, was built around guitar grooves and textures and scored to the station's new graphics package. Stephen Arnold Music is introducing nine additional themes for Las Vegas One this fall.
KXAN-TV, which commissioned its custom music package to coincide with the station's Austin News rebrand, requested an authentic, organic sound using real instruments as much as possible. To accomplish this, Stephen Arnold Music brought in a large string session from the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. The result is a 14-theme package featuring an eclectic blend of guitars, live drums and strings built around a 4-note signature. KXAN-TV launched the package, along with a new set and graphics, on July 5.
