Berkeley, CA (December 12, 2008)--Meyer Sound has hired Chimène Stewart to the position of public relations manager, and Tom Cavnar as digital products support and service specialist.
Stewart comes to Meyer Sound with 15 years of experience in high-tech public relations. She previously worked as head of product public relations for SAP and Oracle, as well as several years at a leading Silicon Valley PR agency driving results for a variety of startup and enterprise technology companies.
"I'm thrilled to join Meyer Sound and look forward to working with the team to continue building a stronger presence for the company," says Stewart. "The Meyer Sound brand has a reputation for integrity, innovation and commitment to customer service that I've always admired. And as a Bay Area native and longtime Berkeley resident, I'm especially excited to be able to apply my extensive corporate experience to such a respected and community-minded local company."
Through close collaboration with the global marketing team at the company, Stewart will help develop and execute integrated communications campaigns targeting current and new markets worldwide.
"As Meyer Sound continues to expand into new markets and grow its global brand, I'm thrilled to have someone with Chimène's experience join the marketing team," says Rachel Archibald, director of marketing. "Her background and skills in crafting unified messaging and running integrated campaigns comes at the perfect time for us as we continue to grow as a company and our needs and objectives for public relations evolve."
In his new role, Cavnar will assist customers in the use of Meyer Sound's digital products, including applications of the Matrix3 audio show control system and the Galileo loudspeaker management system.
Cavnar comes to the position after spending more than a decade working in sound design and audio technology for live theater productions, including three years with the Matrix3 system at South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa, CA. While with South Coast Rep, he took part in sound design, programming and operations for more than 20 major theatrical productions.
Cavnar is the latest addition to Meyer Sound's large support force worldwide, which has recently announced its 24-hour technical support phone line to ensure expert assistance is readily accessible to customers. "Tom's familiarity with Meyer Sound's digital technology overall is only one aspect of what he brings to the position," says John Monitto, Meyer Sound's director of technical support. "More importantly, his experience in modern theatrical sound design has given him a unique perspective on what our customers face on a day-to-day basis in this high-pressure environment, enabling him to assist users in taking full advantage of Meyer Sound's technologies. We're pleased to welcome him to the Meyer Sound family."
"I am very excited to become a part of the company whose products I've depended upon for so many years," Cavnar adds. "I hope to work closely with both new users and strong advocates of Meyer Sound systems on their exciting projects, and will bring to Meyer Sound the same energy and dedication I have brought to my work in the theater industry."
