Las Vegas, NV (April 19, 2006)–Studer is using this year’s NAB Show as the launch platform for its compact Vista 5 digital live broadcast and production console, which brings the manufacturer’s Vistonics-based technology into a new price bracket within the reach of many more audio production facilities.
The Studer Vista 5 digital live broadcast and production consoleAimed primarily at the live TV and live install markets, the Vista 5 is particularly well suited in terms of both cost-effectiveness and functionality for local television news production. Its compact size and design also makes it ideal for smaller OB vehicles where space and budget are at a premium.
While using a new DSP core, the tabletop-mounted Vista 5 follows the same operational principles and uses the same Vistonics screens as its larger brothers, the Vista 6, 7 and 8. The 32-fader desk consists of 20 channel strips, optimized for input channel operation, and 12 additional versatile strips for operating output and input channels. By using the standard Vistonics screen, up to 52 outputs are under immediate control. A total of up to 240 channels can be accessed from the desk and laid out in any order with the Vistonics system giving instant control over all related channel functions.
DSP power and I/O are specified by the customer. The total I/O capacity–comprising various cards, including Mic/Line, ADAT, TDIF, AES/EBU, SDI and MADI–may exceed 1700 inputs and outputs.
