Oakland, CA (February 13, 2006)–Studio 880 has completed construction of a new project studio, located upstairs from Studio A, and named studio A-minor. A-minor is equipped with a Digidesign ICON with integrated surround mixer. The smaller studio is well-suited for light tracking/overdubbing or for audio post production.

The control room now sports an SSL 9000J 64-channel mixer and brand new quad processor Pro Tools HD system. The control room is also undergoing custom sound treatment modifications.
Studio 880 has hosted some interesting live recording sessions for Walmart.com’s new live music video showcase, Soundcheck. Yellowcard in Studio A, taken from the control room during the Walmart.com sessions.The first two features on Soundcheck–Yellowcard and Switchfoot–were produced at Studio 880 in December of 2005, with Studio 880 owner John Lucasey handling audio production. Doug Logan engineered the Yellowcard Soundcheck and Marco Martin and Doug Logan engineered Switchfoot. Logan mastered both productions. The live in-the-studio performances can be viewed at www.walmart.com/soundcheck, and will soon be available for purchase from Walmart.com and Wal-Mart stores.
Studio 880 has finished final mixing of May Pole’s first release, titled Mysterium Tremendum. May Pole is an 880 Records recording artist. Producer John Lucasey mixed all the songs with May Pole songwriter Daniel Sams, and Steve Hall, of Future Disc, mastered the album.
