Oakland, CA (February 10, 2005)–Studio 880’s Studio A is now the home of a fully equipped Digidesign Icon. Studio management reports that since implementing the new system, the studio has been rolling faster and harder than before. The first session on the new board was for Sony recording artist Goapele.
Michael Urbano came in to lay down drum tracks for a couple songs for her follow up release to Even Closer. The drums were produced by Jeff Saltzman and Michael Urbano, and engineered by Brad Kobylczak and Marco Martin.
Also last month, Mark Needham came into the studio to engineer for a choir tracking session for a single for The Killers. The vocals were conducted by producer Michael Denton and produced by Jeff Saltzman. Assistants involved were Marco Martin, Brad Kobylczak, and Steve Beacham.
The up and coming San Francisco based band May Pole was also in Studio A tracking for their debut on 880 Records. John Lucasey is producing the project and Kobylczak was selected for the engineering. Carl Wheeler was also involved in the project, being selected to lay down tracks for piano and Hammond organ with the studio’s Leslie B3. 880 Records, which is part of the Studio 880, 880 Entertainment family, is set to release May Pole early Fall 2005.
