Gardnerville, NV (November 9, 2006)-Summit Audio has entered into an exclusive representation agreement with Lauten Audio. Under the terms of the new agreement, Summit will serve as the sole representative in the United States for the Santa Clara, CA-based company’s entire microphone line, including the all-new Horizon microphone.
“Most people know my company for manufacturing and designing the latest in signal-processing gear,” states Erik Papp, president of Summit Audio, which celebrated its 25th anniversary this year. “However, we also have mature distribution and marketing capabilities thanks to our extensive experience and strong relationships in the industry. We are excited about Lauten Audio’s product line, specifically their Horizon and Oceanus microphones. Lauten is using technology that has never been used before in audio, and we think engineers are going to really fall in love with their microphones.”
Lauten Audio’s first commercially available product, the Horizon cardioid tube microphone, is an optimal combination of components that include an NOS military-grade tube and a high-performance transformer. In addition, the microphone sports an internally shock-mounted, large-diaphragm capsule and a two-step -10 dB and -20 dB pad, which results in very high SPL capabilities.
“We have been working in various capacities with Erik for the past couple years, and trust Summit Audio’s capabilities in the industry,” says Brian Loudenslager, founder of Lauten Audio. “I wanted someone to represent us that fully understands the nuances and technology of our microphones. Not only that, we know that Summit Audio believes in our products as much as we do and will leverage their connections to put us in the best possible position to succeed.”
