New Windsor, NY (January 5, 2009)--Production Resource Group LLC (PRG) has acquired Summit Steel, a UK-based live event rigging company.

Jon Bray, managing director of Summit, will remain in his current position. Summit Steel will continue as an independent brand focused on the markets that it serves. The company, which provides its SmarTmast system, will remain located in Kent.

PRG CEO Jere Harris said, "We are delighted to add Summit Steel to PRG's portfolio of specialist brands in the UK and Europe. A rigging supplier of this strength and reputation will complement and enhance our existing brands in the region and our business globally. Summit Steel is a rigging supplier in the live event business, delivering rigging for a range of projects from theatre to concert touring to conferences and events. Summit is the exclusive supplier of rigging services to London's O2 Arena. Current concert touring projects include Elton John and Coldplay. Summit provides a full rigging service, with equipment and crew, specialty truss structures and made to order design and development.
